How to Print Text Messages from Android Phones

If you need to print text messages from your phone then you can do this in 3 taps using the Print Text Messages Android app.

Once you have installed Print Text Messages app from Google Play on your Android phone you can follow this tutorial.

Click on each step in turn for detailed instructions or watch the video guide below.

1. Open the app

Find the Print Text Messages app icon on your phone and open the app.

2. Main Menu

You'll see the main menu, which is super simple and has a button to start the process.

Tap the Select Conversation button. This then opens the next page showing your text message conversations.

3. Select a conversation

you'll see a list of text message conversations, showing the most recent ones first.

Select the conversation that you need to print.

4. Preview text message PDF file

The app will collect all the messages from your chosen conversation and generate a Preview of the PDF file. Sent messages show up in black text, incoming messages are in red. MMS messages are also read.

You can scroll up and down the preview to see all the messages.

You now have the option of printing the messages or saving them as a PDF.

5. Print your messages

Tap the Print/Save PDF button. You'll see a dropdown at the top of the screen showing Save as PDF and also any printers you have available.

To print directly from your phone simply select your printer and set the number of copies and paper size.

6. Save a PDF of your messages

If you do not have a printer available, you can save a PDF of your messages by tapping the Print/Save PDF button.

Instead of selecting a printer from the dropdown list simply select Save as PDF. Then press the round PDF button on the right.

You can change the filename if you wish, and select a folder on your phone to save the PDf file to. Remember where you saved the PDF, as you'll then need to either copy the PDF onto your computer or email it as an attachment.

All your messages are printed with the senders number and the date and time they were sent. The PDF option is especially useful for court or legal matters as they cannot be edited.
